Hello dog lovers! If you’re like me, you’re probably always on the lookout for the best new places to take your furry friend. Luckily for us, Detroit and its surrounding areas have a ton of amazing dog parks! I’ve rounded up a list of my top 8, so grab your leash, some treats, and let’s go!

Lyon Oaks Dog Park
At nearly six acres, it’s no wonder Lyon Oaks is one of the best dog parks in the area. There’s plenty of room for your pup to run and play and even has a pond for swimming. And with plenty of shady areas, you’ll be sure to stay cool during the hot summer months.

Orion Oaks Dog Park
Orion Oaks is another fantastic nearby dog park that’s perfect for a day out. With three separate areas for small, medium, and large dogs, no one is left out of the fun. The park also features a pond, volleyball courts, and a picnic area, so you can make a day out of it.

River Rouge Park
River Rouge is a lovely park that offers great terrain for your furry friend to explore – fields, wooded areas, and a small creek for splashing around in! It’s a great off-leash area to let your dog run wild and make new friends!

Balduck Park
Balduck Park is a lush green space that offers not only an off-leash area but also a designated enclosure for smaller dogs. It’s a favorite for many pet owners who say it’s always clean, well-maintained, and has plenty of benches for when you want to sit back and watch your dog have fun.

Novi dog park is always full of happy dogs and their owners. The park offers over six acres for your dog to explore and even has a pond for them to dive into during those hotter days. If your pup gets thirsty, the park provides drinking water throughout the area.

Hines Park is a beautiful park that spans over seventeen miles and is perfect for long walks with your dog. There are several trails to choose from, and your pooch can even dip their paws in the Rouge River. Be sure to keep your pup on a leash, and you’ll definitely want to bring a camera for some beautiful pictures!

Looking for something more urban? Canine to Five is a dog daycare that offers fun playtimes, off-leash areas, and even a pool for your pup. They have an indoor park and an outdoor play area so you can have a great time, rain or shine!

Milford Dog Park
Milford Dog Park is a five-acre park that features a pond for swimming. The park offers separate areas for small dogs and larger dogs and has plenty of benches for owners to rest on. There’s even a washing station for your pup, so no need to worry if they get a bit muddy while having fun.
