Howdy y’all! Are you thirsty for some delicious brews? Then come with me on a beertastic journey through Kansas City! As a seasoned homebrewer, I’ve had the pleasure of visiting several breweries in this great city. Here are nine of my favorite spots for you to check out:
-
Boulevard Brewing Company
Boulevard Brewing Company is one of the largest craft breweries in the Midwest, and for good reason. Their beers are consistently delicious and they have a great taproom that you can visit year-round. They offer a wide variety of beers, including a few that are exclusively available at the taproom. My personal favorite is the Tank 7 Farmhouse Ale, which is a complex and flavorful beer that’s perfect for sipping on a hot summer day.
-
Torn Label Brewing Co.
Torn Label Brewing Co. is a relatively new addition to the Kansas City beer scene, but they’ve already established themselves as a must-visit spot. Their taproom is cozy and inviting, and their beers are inventive and delicious. I highly recommend trying the Café Dubbel, which is a Belgian-style dubbel infused with coffee. It might sound odd, but trust me, it’s amazing!
-
Martin City Brewing Company
Martin City Brewing Company has two locations in Kansas City – one in Martin City and another in Mission Farms. Both locations have a rustic, industrial vibe that makes you feel like you’re in the heart of the brewing process. They offer a wide variety of beers, but make sure to try their Hardway IPA. It’s a hoppy and refreshing beer that’s perfect for any occasion.
-
Stockyards Brewing Co.
Stockyards Brewing Co. is located in the historic Livestock Exchange Building, which adds to its charm and character. Their beers are classic and well-crafted, but also offer a few surprises, such as their Peanut Butter Porter. It might sound strange, but it’s a deliciously unique beer that’s worth a try.
-
Cinder Block Brewery
Cinder Block Brewery is located just north of downtown Kansas City, and they offer a great variety of beers in their taproom. Their Space IPA is a crowd favorite, and they also have a seasonal spice beer that’s perfect for the fall and winter months. The taproom has a fun, industrial vibe that makes it a great spot to hang out with friends.
-
Border Brewing Co.
Border Brewing Co. is a small, family-owned brewery located just south of downtown Kansas City. They have a cozy taproom that’s perfect for relaxing and enjoying some delicious beers. Their flagship beer is the Grisette, which is a light, refreshing beer that’s perfect for sipping on a hot day. They also have a great selection of guest beers if you’re in the mood to try something new.
-
Big Rip Brewing Co.
Big Rip Brewing Co. is located in North Kansas City and has a great selection of beers on tap. They have a cozy and eclectic taproom that’s filled with interesting decorations and local artwork. They offer a wide variety of beers, but make sure to try their Raspberry Wheat. It’s a light and fruity beer that’s perfect for summertime sipping.
-
Double Shift Brewing Company
Double Shift Brewing Company is located in the Crossroads Arts District and offers a great selection of beers in their taproom. They have a cozy and inviting space that’s perfect for relaxing with friends. Their Beerded Lady American Pale Ale is a crowd favorite, but they also offer a few surprises, such as their Mexican Chocolate Stout. It’s a rich and flavorful beer that’s perfect for dessert.
-
Calibration Brewery
Calibration Brewery is located in the Northland and has a small, cozy taproom that’s perfect for relaxing. They offer a great selection of beers, including their popular Little Green Backpack IPA. They also offer a unique sour beer that’s worth a try. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, so don’t hesitate to ask for recommendations.
