Located conveniently within 20 minutes from Tucson, the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is one of the most visited attractions. This museum is a combination of a zoo, botanical garden, and natural history museum, showcasing the diverse flora and fauna of the Sonoran Desert. The museum includes a broad range of species, interactive exhibits, and daily animal shows. You can pet the stingrays, see the mountain lion, and walk through butterfly exhibits.

Old Tucson Studios
If you’re a fan of Western movies or TV shows, then Old Tucson Studios is the perfect spot to visit. These Studios have been the site of more than 300 Western films and television series like Tombstone, Little House on the Prairie, and The Three Amigos. You can take a walk through a recreated movie set, interact with actors in costumes, and watch live performances throughout the day that will transport you back in time.

Reid Park Zoo
The Reid Park Zoo is an excellent spot to take the family to. This zoo is home to more than 500 animals, including Aldabra giant tortoises, grizzly bears, and jaguars. It’s impossible not to enjoy the interactive experience they offer to get up close with all of their different animals. They have a souvenir shop and a café where one can buy snacks and meals while enjoying their time in the park.

A must-visit spot for any family, the Pima Air and Space Museum is the ultimate place to explore and teach all about aircraft. The museum features displays of over 350 aircraft and spacecraft that have played a significant role in aviation history. They also hold various events throughout the year. The Level Up exhibit that they offer has a hands-on approach to air and space travel and is sure to thrill younger visitors.

The Sabino Canyon is a recreational area that is the perfect place to get in touch with nature. The park offers a range of activities, from hiking to horseback riding to picnicking. You can see lush plant life and abundant wildlife, like bighorn sheep, that exists harmoniously here. They offer guided tours, but you can also explore the park on your own as well.

Children’s Museum Oro Valley
A children’s museum for youngsters aged ten years and under, the Children’s Museum Oro Valley, has plenty of exhibits that encourage kids’ hands-on exploration. There are play spaces, such as grocery stores, a mountain climbing, and an outdoor play area. This museum is appropriate for children aged up to 10 years, and it’s the perfect place to spend an afternoon. They also offer birthday packages.

The Tucson Botanical Gardens are a peaceful oasis of gorgeous flowers, cacti, and other plants. With a range of gardens, like the Butterfly Garden and herb garden, there is something delightful for everyone, including children. There are special garden exhibits, tours, and cooking classes that are held regularly. If you have the time, don’t forget to explore the gift shop, which has various souvenirs to choose from.
